In recognition of National Chip Week 2014 (17th-23rd February) we took the opportunity to visit seven Chip Shops across Congleton.
National Chip Week is a campaign run by The Potato Council to promote awareness of chips, chip shops and the potato industry as a whole.
The Potato Council is a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) and is funded by a compulsory levy paid by potato growers and merchants.
In addition to the marketing campaign, money raised by The Potato Council goes towards the research and development of potato production and the publication of Potato Weekly; All of which aim to ensure the potato industry is efficient, competitive and sustainable.
